If a book download is unable to complete successfully, you might see the following in your Chirp app:
If you're seeing a "Download Failed" message in your app, please try the following:
- Ensure that your device is maintaining a strong and stable internet connection while downloading the book. If your device's internet connection is inconsistent, this could cause the download process to get interrupted and fail.
- Redownload the book by clicking on the three vertical dots that appear to the right of your book on the "My Library" screen. On the following page, select "Download" from the list of options. The download has completed successfully when this option changes from “Cancel download” to “Remove download”. You’ll see a green cloud icon next to books in your library that have been successfully downloaded for offline listening.
Tip:
For detailed steps on how to download a book in the Chirp app, please see this FAQ: Can I listen to a book without a network connection? How do I download books for offline listening?
It might also be a good idea to double-check that your device has sufficient storage space to download your book. If you need to free up space, you can choose to archive a book. You can learn more about archiving books in this FAQ: How do I archive a book?
