Just like music, movies, and TV shows, the volume of some audiobooks may sound louder or quieter depending on how the audiobook recording was originally produced by the author or publisher.
If you're having difficulty hearing your book, we'd recommend trying the following:
- Make sure that your smartphone or tablet's volume is turned up. You can learn more about volume settings for Android here and Apple iOS (iPhone, iPad) here.
- If you're using an external audio device such as headphones, a speaker, or a hearing aid, double-check that they've connected to your smartphone or tablet successfully and are working properly (check your Bluetooth settings and battery level, for example).
- Some external audio devices have volume controls that function independently of your smartphone or tablet's volume settings — in these instances, check that the volume on both devices is turned up.
Please note:
If you find that you're only having trouble hearing one specific book in your library, it's possible that the original audio recording is simply on the quieter side. Chirp is not able to adjust audio recordings to make them louder.
